Kathy Koenig, MSN,  APRN

At this time I am not accepting new patients.

As an advanced practice nurse, I am committed to helping individuals reduce their suffering and improve their quality of life. This happens as people learn about themselves and feel ready to take steps to make changes in their life. As I work with an individual, I seek to understand how they experience themselves and their world with empathy and compassion. My framework is integrative, incorporating psychological and psychodynamic understanding without any judgment. I strive to make therapy a collaborative and supportive experience so that individuals will feel safe, understood, and empowered.

I have experience working with children, teens and adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, OCD, and ADHD. Additionally, I can help with those going through struggles related to family matters, relationships, and the different stages of life from childhood through the aging process. I work directly with each individual, including with young children, but I also work directly with parents as a part of my work with a child.

I am able to prescribe medication as needed for those in therapy with me.

Appointments are through telehealth or in-person, depending on the needs of the individual. I use a HIPAA secure interface so that all telehealth meetings are completely confidential. Fees are determined at the time of the initial consultation.  I accept Aetna and Magellan insurance as well as private pay currently. At this time, private pay can only be accepted via credit card. This decision is aimed at streamlining the payment process and ensuring a secure and efficient transaction experience.

The first step in the process of working together is for me to provide consultation after one or more meetings with you to determine whether we think working together will be helpful and fruitful. It's important for an individual and their therapist to feel that there is a good "fit", and that there is a clear understanding with regard to the therapy process. Together we will identify your objectives for therapy and your expectations regarding outcomes.  Psychotherapy can be an enriching and rewarding experience.
